CRIME:  SHOPLIFTING THEFT OVER $5000

DATE:    May 18, 2016

RCMP FILE:  2016-26372

Kelowna RCMP were contacted by security at the Bay when they discovered three jewelry items worth almost $10,000 taken from a display case in the jewelry department.  Video surveillance shows that three suspects were involved in the theft of the Effy rose gold panther pendant (PCZI781D26), Effy rose gold panther stud earrings (EZ0R019D26) and an Effy rose gold smoky topaz pendant (not shown) around 5:00 p.m. on May 18th.

CRIME:  STREET FIGHT – ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM

DATE:    May 24, 2016

RCMP FILE:  2016-27620

Police are searching for witnesses of an altercation that occurred between 2:00 and 4:00 a.m. on May 22nd in downtown Kelowna.   Two men left Sapphire Nightclub upon closing and ended up in front of the Pita Pit Restaurant on Bernard Avenue.  The altercation began when a surfer-skater looking male with long blonde hair pushed one of the men.  A comment was made about an Australian accent (victim had an English accent) and then the man was punched in the face and went down.  The blonde suspect was with two other men, however no description is available.  The victim attended Kelowna General Hospital the next day with two black eyes, a fractured nose and a fractured left cheekbone.  RCMP would like any witnesses to the altercation to come forward or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
