CRIME:  THEFT OF DUMP TRUCK

DATE:    May 16, 2016

RCMP FILE:  2016-25784

A theft of truck report was filed to Kelowna RCMP at 7:00 a.m. on May 16th.  Police attended the location on the 3300 block of Appaloosa Road and viewed video of the theft.  At 1:00 a.m. a thin male wearing jeans, a black hoodie and white sneakers walked through the front lot and around some dumpsters.  At 4:30 he returned as a passenger in a newer black Dodge one ton with no front plate and jumped out.  The black truck departs and two minutes later the 2012 International truck with a black dump box leaves the lot.  The keys are gone from the shop, but nothing else is missing.  The license plate number of the truck is HM4398 and the VIN is 1HTMMAAP8CH437373.

CRIME:  THEFT OF CHOPPER

DATE:    May 17, 2016

RCMP FILE:  2016-26136

A grey and silver 2006 “chopper” style Harley Davidson was stolen from a home on the 700 block of Lawson Avenue sometime between May 14 and 17th.  The bike was secure in the backyard - locked with a chain and padlock.  It would have either been hot-wired or taken away in a truck or trailer as the keys are accounted for.  The BC license plate number on the bike is W41210 and the VIN is 5L5TX166761000790.
