CRIME: Theft of Honda Dirt Bike
DATE: January 16, 2006

During the early morning hours of Monday, January 16, thieves pried open the front sliding garage door from the 2500 block of a Sexsmith Road residence. The suspects stole a red 2005 Honda CRF 250X dirt bike valued at $15,000. For a photo of the stolen bike.

CRIME: Theft at Pita Pit
DATE: January 25, 2006
RCMP FILE: 2006-3982


Sometime between 3:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. on January 25, someone broke the front door lock of the Pita Pit on Bernard Avenue. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the restaurant. Suspects left behind pliers and a screwdriver.

Crime: Break in at Cooper’s Plaza
Date: January 26, 2006

On January 26, between midnight and 1 a.m., a vacant store in Cooper’s Plaza on Beaver Lake Road was broken into. Suspects smashed the window and took off with unidentified items. Witnesses spotted a male on a bike and two females in the area carrying bags. They may have gone to the Winfield mobile home park.

Crime: Theft of PA System
Date: January 24, 2006

The Boys and Girls Club is missing a public address system. During an overnight break-in on January 24, thieves smashed the basement window of the Berry Road club, making off with the sound equipment valued at $5,000 - $6,000.

Crime: Stolen Vehicle
Date: January 27, 2006

Be careful whom you befriend. An Oyama Road resident found this out the hard way when he invited a male acquaintance he met in Vernon to his home January 27. When the victim fell asleep, the new “friend” stole the man’s car, sometime between 9 and 10 a.m. The vehicle is a gray, 1987 Hyundai Pony, BC plate number 391 CSD. No suspect description was given.
