CRIME: JEWELLERY STORE ROBBERY

DATE: August 25, 2015

RCMP FILE: 2015-47188

Just after 5:00 p.m. on August 25th Kelowna RCMP responded to a jewellery store robbery on the 1200 block of Cannery Lane. Two men had walked into the store, locked the door, displayed a weapon and stated “we are taking all your gold”. One of the suspects took the employee to the rear of the store while the other man loaded a black back pack with jewellery. They then ran out of the store to a parking lot where they went in different directions. One man was tackled by some helpful citizens but got away. The second male was seen getting into a blue/grey SUV and driving east on Cawston Avenue. Luckily the backpack with merchandise was able to be returned to the store.

Suspect 1 is a 45 year old male with a scruffy face, thin build, 6’1” tall, wearing a dark blue hoodie and dark “Swat” baseball hat. Suspect 2 is a darker complexioned 40 year old male with a larger build wearing blue coveralls and a bright orange safety vest.
