CRIME: ARSON

DATE: May 10, 2015

RCMP FILE: 2015-22568

Lake Country RCMP and Fire Department were called to a vehicle fire at a motel located on the 11,000 block of Petrie Road just before 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 10th. Tenants were able to distinguish the fire that had been set in the box of the brown GMC pickup with some carpet mats and a fire extinguisher before the fire trucks arrived. It is believed that someone deliberately set fire to a 10 litre gas can that had been in the box of the truck.

CRIME: ARSON

DATE: May 11, 2015

RCMP FILE: 2015-22820

At 10:38 p.m. on May 11th RCMP Dispatch reported a structure fire at the Gatzke Farm located on Pelmewash Parkway in Oyama. Upon arrival, police discovered two separate blazes; one at a tented area and another at a storage shed approximately 50 metres away. Witnesses had seen two cars pull out quickly from the area and blow through the stop signs heading toward Oyama. Luckily there was minimal damage to the buildings.
