CRIME: DRUG STORE SHOPLIFTER

DATE: March 30, 2015

RCMP FILE: 2015-15327

The loss prevention officer from London Drugs called Kelowna RCMP to report a shoplifting incident that occurred on March 30th. A customer had alerted staff of a man seen running out of the store carrying merchandise. Video surveillance revealed a male entering the store at 9:30 p.m., pick up two iRobot Roomba vacuum cleaning robots (model 585) and exit the store. The Roomba’s are worth approximately $300 each. Six such vacuums have been stolen in the last three months.

CRIME: THEFT OF COPPER

DATE: April 5, 2015

RCMP FILE: 2015-16323

Copper theft seems to be alive in the Okanagan. Staff at the Telus compound located on Penno Road called RCMP when they discovered 160 metres of missing copper cable. According to video surveillance two suspects entered the compound around 10:00 p.m. on April 5th and un-spooled the copper. They then slid the cable under the fence and loaded it into a small light coloured pick-up truck. The copper is valued at approximately $9200.00.
