CRIME: BREAK AND ENTER AT THE BAY

DATE: August 19, 2014

RCMP FILE: 2014-46730

Kelowna RCMP investigators are seeking public assistance in locating two males and one female who broke into The Bay department store located at Orchard Park Mall in the early morning hours of August 19th, 2014.

The suspects entered through the Cooper Road entrance by using tools to remove the locks and proceeded directly to the purse and jewellery area of the store where they smashed glass cases that housed higher priced jewellery and watches. Over 130 pieces of jewellery were stolen totaling an approximate retail value of $176,000. The suspects fled in a getaway vehicle, driven by a male who waited in the car while the suspects were in the store.

The suspects are described as: Male #1 was shorter, wearing a brown jacket, a gray baseball cap and had his face hidden by a cloth. The second male was taller, wearing black pants, a grey shirt and also had his face hidden. The female was slender, wearing a black top, black pants and a black cap. Her face was covered by a light coloured scarf.

The light coloured vehicle is described as being similar to a Jeep Cherokee, with a sunroof and no front license plate.

Items stolen included Movado watches, an 18 K white gold diamond cluster ring, various diamond rings, Bulova watches, sapphire necklaces and rings, ruby rings and an assortment of 14 k gold and white gold diamond earrings and pendants.
