RCMP FILE: 2014-39300

Unfortunately the Smith Creek fire evacuations drew at least one incident of theft. Owners of a home on the 2500 block of Cobblestone Road were evacuated on Thursday, July 17. When they returned on Sunday, July 20th, they discovered a messy house, missing liquor and a stolen watch. The watch, a wedding gift, was a men’s white gold Harley Davidson watch engraved with a sentiment and a 2014 wedding date.

RCMP FILE: 2014-39691

West Kelowna Fire Department contacted RCMP to report a vehicle fire at 3:45 AM on July 22nd. A service van parked on the side of Highway 97 S near Boucherie Road was completely engulfed in flames when members arrived. Apparently the van had engine problems and was to have been towed the evening before. The towing company was forced to leave the van at this location, where it was completely destroyed by the arson.
