CRIME: Attempt Residential Break and Enter

DATE: 16 May 2014

RCMP FILE: 2014-24566

The owner of a residence in the 11100 block of Cemetery Rd reported that someone has attempted to break into their home by prying the rear patio door. The thieves were unsuccessful on this attempt and access was not gained. This was the second break and enter to this residence within the past two weeks. It appears that the thieves are targeting homes while people are at work. If you notice suspicious activity in your neighbourhood please contact the Police as soon as possible and report the incident.

CRIME: Credit Card Fraud

DATE: 20 May 2014

RCMP FILE: 2014-25564

Lake Country RCMP are investigating an attempted fraud by a person who is using drivers licence information to obtain credit cards. The victim reported that they received letter from a credit card company advising that their application had been denied. The victim also learned that several other applications to other card companies had been made in the their name. The suspect had used personal information to apply for these cards and at this time it is not known how this info was obtained. This is a reminder to not leave valuables or wallets, purses etc in your vehicles.
