A Lake Country resident leaving for work at 4:45 AM on February 22nd noticed that her next door neighbour’s vehicle had a broken window and a rock lying beside the car. The Ford Escape had been parked at the home on the 10,900 block of Darlene Road at approximately 2:00 AM. Thieves stole an Itech hockey bag full of northern work gear and clothing, a Dakine backpack, Helly Hansen work gear, Dakota rain gear and a green and black duffle holding miscellaneous clothing. Neighborhood queries discovered that the suspects were possibly two younger males who left the area in a black Chevy or GMC pickup, possibly with a quad in the back of the truck. Several other vehicles from this area were also broken into during the night.

On February 24th Lake Country RCMP were notified of yet another local theft from vehicle. An unlocked Dodge Durango parked on the 9000 block of Winview Road was entered sometime over the week-end. Thieves stole 4 folding buck knives (two with black handles, one with a red handle and one camouflage), a Garmin Explorist GPS, Garmin Nav system, loose change and a pair of gloves.
