Lake Country has experienced a rash of thefts from vehicles in the past couple of weeks. On the evening of February 11th culprits broke into a blue Hyundai Tucson parked on the 13,000 block of Shoreline Drive and stole a diaper bag containing a wallet. The empty wallet was recovered near a neighbor’s home. On February 15th the residents of Roberts Road had several vehicles entered although nothing of value was taken besides loose change and prescription pills. A resident noticed an older dark coloured Chevy longbox truck that seemed out of place in the neighbourhood that could be associated to the thefts. A wallet was stolen from a vehicle on the 16,000 block of nearby Powley Court on the 15th as well. On February 18th another file was reported where a vehicle on the 17,000 block of Coral Beach Road was entered and a wallet and tools were stolen. Police would like to remind residents to lock their vehicles.

On February 18th a resident of the 9800 block of Crimson Road in Lake Country reported that sometime overnight thieves used a large landscape rock to smash the front passenger door window of his grey 2006 Chevrolet HHR that was parked in the driveway. A white wallet was taken from the car along with a yellow and black Garmin GPS, a pair of White Lug sunglasses and some loose change. Just down the street that same night thieves used a garage door opener from an unlocked car to enter the garage and steal a set of golf clubs and a mountain bike. The golf clubs were in a black Calloway bag and included a Calloway driver, two Wilson fairway woods, a full set of Rac irons, a TNT putter and a pair of black and grey golf shoes. The mountain bike is a 21 speed Devince Frantic bike that has a grey frame with black forks, Fox shocks on the rear, Rock shocks on the front and a red guard on the main sprocket.
