CRIME: MULTIPLE BREAK AND ENTERS

DATE: December 2 – 8, 2013

RCMP FILE: 2013-67691

There has been a rash of break and enters in the lower mission and hospital area in the past couple of weeks. The suspect(s) seems to be breaking in through rear doors by prying them open or taking advantage of unlocked doors. The suspect may ring the doorbell before entering to ensure an empty home. In one case the occupant did not feel like answering the door and surprised the burglar in the kitchen. The man ran away before police could be called. In another instance a man took his dog out for a walk at 4:45 PM on December 4th and upon his return noticed a man in a red coat on a lime green Norco bike. It turns out the bike was his son’s that had just been stolen from his Cadder Avenue home, along with 40 watches, a Nintendo system, 2 iPods and miscellaneous cash and jewellery. At another address a girl was home and encountered the man in the house. He did not harm her and ran off. This man is described as 5’11”, short dark hair and wearing a black and red ski jacket.
