Opportunity to view kokanee spawning

You’re invited to witness an annual rite of nature while learning more about the life of the Kokanee salmon.
Check out the regional parks ‘Kokanee Spawning Interpretive Program’ weekends in Mission Creek Regional Park off Springfield Road and Hardy Falls Regional Park in Peachland.
Starting today - Saturday, August 24th a parks Interpreter will be on site each weekend until Sunday, September 29th at Hardy Falls Regional Park to offer information on the spawning of the kokanee salmon - a landlocked variety of salmon which inhabits Okanagan Lake, among others in the province.
The interpretation program runs each Saturday and Sunday until October 6th at Mission Creek Regional Park. Interpreters are available from noon to 4:00 pm at each location. Weekday school tours and special presentations for community groups start September 9thand may be booked by donation through the EECO (Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan).
