Motorhome victims lose everything
A couple who were in the process of moving to the South Okanagan has lost all of their possessions after their motor home was destroyed in a fiery crash over the weekend.
The 1997 Fleetwood motor home was travelling southbound along Highway 97 and approached the Prairie Valley Road intersection around 7 p.m. Sunday.
According to RCMP Sgt. Mona Kauffeld, the driver of the motor home was unable to stop and rear-ended a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier that was waiting at a traffic light. As a result, the Cavalier struck a 2005 Honda Accord from Alberta.
“The Honda went into the ditch; however, the motor home and Chevrolet Cavalier caught fire,” says Kauffeld.
Four people were involved in the collision and were transported to Penticton General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
