It's never a good idea to let the Mounties sniff around your vehicle when it's full of marijuana.

That's what happened to an Abbotsford woman Sunday evening on Highway 33.

Members with Central Okanagan Traffic Services were conducting a sobriety road check at the Hall Creek rest area about 9:15 Sunday when they came across a vehicle full of marijuana plants.

Cst. Kris Clark says officers detected a distinct odour coming from inside a Ford Explorer they had stopped.

Inside the vehicle they discovered 300 marijuana plants in the early stages of development.

A small amount of bud was also found.

The driver of the vehicle, a 24-year-old Abbotsford woman was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of trafficking.

She was released on a Promise to Appear in January.
