Lake Country ArtWalk presents “Art for Change” exploring the power of art in its many forms.
Lake Country ArtWalk is an arts festival that has attracted more than 6,000 visitors each year and showcases the caliber of creativity and artistic talent in the Okanagan. For years art has been an outlet for expression and a powerful means to communicate thought provoking ideas and inspire change.
On September 8th and 9th, Lake Country ArtWalk will challenge and explore the power of art and the various mediums that are used to address issues such as social justice, the environment and important aspects of our daily lives through the theme, "Art For Change".
With more than 3,000 works of art, there will be 18 galleries, 7 artist groups and over 300 artists present over the course of the two-day festival. ArtWalk features original works from artists throughout the Okanagan that will include painting, printmaking, sculpting, photography, fibre arts, jewelry, film and more. For just a toonie, patrons will witness the sights and sounds of creativity from artist demonstrations and free workshops plus live music and dance throughout the two days.
