Shot rings out in Peachland
Neighbours around the 5700 block of MacKenzie Road in Peachland were awoken to the sound of a gun shot early Thursday morning.
The shot rang out following a home invasion at the MacKenzie Road home.
Cst. Kris Clark says four men apparently broke into the home sometime before 2:30 a.m. causing the sole occupant to flee the residence.
"Neighbours were awakened by the sound of a gun shot and observed four men getting into a smaller white four-door pickup truck," says Clark.
"Police believe this to be an isolated incident and that the residence was targeted."
Clark was unable to elaborate as to a possible motive.
One man in the neighbourhood told Castanet news the cul de sac is normally quiet -- there are lots of kids in the area.
He admits he was scared when he heard all the commotion outside at 3 a.m. and didn't know what was going on.
Police investigators continue to process the scene.
Anyone with information concerning this case are asked to contact the West Kelowna RCMP Detachment or Crime Stoppers.
