Big White hires 600

It was a successful job hunt for 600 people looking for work at Big White Ski Resort this week.

The mountain and the Big White Chamber of Commerce held a job fair Monday and Tuesday at the Holiday Inn Express in Kelowna.

People came from around the world to be interviewed to fill mountain tourism positions. They came from:

  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • Germany
  • France
  • United Kingdom

Over 1100 interviews were conducted over the two days by 16 departments for the resort and nine participating restaurants and local businesses.

“I’m amazed at where people come from on a working holiday visa and the talent that they want to share with the season’s pass holders and guests at Big White Ski Resort,” commented Michael Ballingall, Senior Vice President of Big White Ski Resort Ltd. “It seems people want Canada’s favourite family ski resort brand on their resume and to experience our hands-on training program.”
