First paddleboard race a success

The first ever Rattlesnake Island paddleboard race saw 30 people compete in the cross-lake competition.

There were 30 entries in this challenging race around the Rattlesnake Island across from Peachland and back to the starting line at 13th Street Wharf.

"The numbers exceeded the sponsor's hopes and they intend to hold the event next year again, bigger and better," said organizer Shaun Boo.

There was only the one race that started at 10 a.m. and takes less than an hour to complete.

Two entries were from New Zealand.
