Power restored

8:20 a.m. update: Power has been restored to over 2600 customers in Lake Country and for homes and businesses along Westside Road.

The power went out at around 6:45 a.m. Sunday; customers were in the dark for almost an hour and a half.

BC Hydro says it was a problem at its substation.


7:57 a.m.: Over 2600 customers in Lake Country are without power this morning (Sunday).

BC Hydro says a failure at one of its substations has caused the outage.

The power went out at around 6:45, crews are on scene trying to fix the problem. They say it should be restored before 10 a.m.

BC Hydro says the outage is in three areas:

  • East of Okanagan Centre Rd. and north of Hwy. 97
  • East of Kelwin Rd., north of Commonwealth Rd.
  • Westside Rd.
