Stolen truck smashes store

The front doors of Lake Country Liquor were damaged last week after at least one person tried to break into the store.

Members of the Lake Country RCMP responded to an attempted break and enter around 12:30 a.m. on July 17, after the front doors to the business were repeatedly smashed by a pickup truck.

Video surveillance showed an older model truck make several approaches to the front of the business, causing extensive damage.

A few hours later, the Kelowna RCMP were called about a stolen vehicle. The black 1986 Chevy pickup reported stolen was very similar in description to the suspect vehicle used to damage the business a few hours earlier.

The same truck was recovered on Bulman Road later that same day.

Police are still looking for anyone with information about either crime. They are asked to contact the Lake Country RCMP, Cst. Rogby at 250-766-2288 or the Kelowna RCMP, Cst. Angulo at 250-762-3300. You can also remain anonymous by calling CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
