97C rollover

By Ray Cushion

A rollover on Highway 97C entrapped one man in a vehicle and left a second, female occupant injured.

The crash occurred around 2 p.m. near the Pennask Summit. The westbound lane of the highway was temporarily closed so the air ambulance could land.

By 4 p.m., it had two lanes open eastbound and one lane open westbound.

Around 3 p.m. Eric Lowe tweeted "Horrible accident on HWY 97C west of the Pennask Summit. Overturned camper trailer and van. Drive safely out there!"

The extent of either person's injuries could not be confirmed, but the man required emergency crews to extricate him from the vehicle.

He was then airlifted to hospital.
