Pioneer Park swimming notice

Swimming is not advised at Pioneer Park in Lake Country.

The municipality posted signs at the park on Kalamalka Lake over the weekend advising swimmers against going in the water due to poor water quality.

It states bacteria counts exceed Health Canada limits.

According to Interior Health's website, water quality is also moderate at Peach Orchard Park in Summerland and Paddlewheel Park Beach in Vernon.

Those results were posted by Interior Health Friday.

Some Interior Health Lakes are tested throughout the swimming season to ensure the health of swimmers.
