Storm rolls through

This was certainly not expected.

A brief storm brought with it rain, brisk winds and an electrical burst that lit up the blackened, early evening sky.

Lightning strikes were reported in Rose Valley, East Kelowna and over Okanagan Lake.

There have been no reports of major fires as a result of the lightning.

Kelowna Fire Department crews were dispatched to several strike areas, however, officials say there was nothing serious to report.

Wind and rain played havoc in some neighbourhoods but, again, nothing serious has been reported.

Skies cleared behind the storm bringing a double rainbow over the lake.
