Search & rescue called out

The Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) team was called out Saturday morning to search for a male in the James Lake area by Joe Rich.

The male had not been in contact with his family since he had decided to build a cabin and live somewhere around James Lake.  The family became concerned as they had not heard from the male for some time and decided to asked the RCMP to find him and make sure he was okay.

Duane Tresnich, COSAR Vice President/Media Relations says, "Due to the remote area that they believed the male was in, the RCMP contacted COSAR and we responded with one truck, two ATVs and seven members."

Since the RCMP was only given a general area of where the male might be, COSAR performed a grid search around James Lake in an attempt to locate the male and confirm that he was okay.

After 10 hours of searching the area, COSAR and RCMP did not come across the male or any indication that he was even in the area.

The search was terminated until additional information becomes available.
