Firefighters campout at Big White

The Big White Fire Department will be taking part in their third annual rooftop campout this weekend, in support of the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

Both men and women will be braving the elements and spending two nights camping atop the Kids Centre in the Village from March 14-16.

Throughout the days they will be providing BBQ food, hot chocolate and coffee all by donation to the foundation.

"I am so proud of the Big White Fire Department Members who work so hard to organize this annual event,” says Fire Chief Jamie Svendsen.

“This year's proceeds are going to the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation to support families in need. Please stop by and say hi during the camp out we look forward to seeing you.”

People can expect to see demonstrations throughout the afternoons, snowball throwing contests, tug-of-war competitions and an appearance by the fire department's mascot, Sparky the Dalmatian.
