Christmas Eve at Big White

Christmas Eve at Big White

The day before Christmas was full of festive events to celebrate the season on Big White Mountain.

The festivities started off at Happy Valley Day Lodge and a pancake breakfast with Santa. Families crowded the restaurant all morning for photos and a visit from St. Nick while enjoying their meals.

In the evening, Pastor Jack held an Inter-Denominational church service in the Village Centre Mall. The service was a combination of passage readings and carolling. Pastor Jack emphasised Christmas as “the coming together of the secular and spiritual.”

Following the service, fire twirlers and various groups from Big White took part in a parade through the village centre and were followed by the annual Christmas Eve Torch Light Parade down the mountain. Top skiers and boarders took to the slopes carrying torches to illuminate the hill.

The night ended with a festive fireworks display.
