Heavy fog cancels flights
Oct 22, 2013 / 1:05 pm
Tuesday's heavy morning fog caused four flights to be cancelled out of Kelowna's Airport and a lot of passengers had to seek alternate flights.
YLW Media Relations Jenelle Hynes says all of the stranded passengers have been taken care of.
"All of the passengers from the four affected flights have been re-booked on different flights today with a few compensated for an overnight and out tomorrow."
Hynes says when fog comes in safety is key.
"It is limited visibility, and when this does happen, safety becomes our number one priority, and it will affect some flights."
YLW expects the fog to burn off this afternoon, but warns that things are still a little delayed across the board because of the ripple effect from the early morning issues.
"We expect that everything should be fine for the rest of the day," adds Hynes.
