Daniel Radcliffe goes on reckless rant

Last week, we learned that the former Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe, used to show up to the Potter set a little on the intoxicated side. Not sure what his motives were for that dose of disclosure, but fair enough I guess.

But now, less than a week later, Radcliffe is not only dipping his little toe into the pool of unfiltered utterances, he’s diving in headfirst.

What’s coming out of his mouth now, you ask?

The latest from Radcliffe takes a shot at Hollywood snobbery, and its proclivity to favor the work of Martin Scorsese.

"I don't think the Oscars like commercial films, or kids' films, unless they're directed by Martin Scorsese," Radcliffe, 22, tells Radio Times.

"I was watching Hugo the other day and going, 'Why is this nominated and we're not?' I was slightly miffed."

Says Radcliffe: "There's a certain amount of snobbery. It's kind of disheartening. I never thought I'd care. But it would've been nice to have some recognition, just for the hours put in."

Dude… if Oscars were bestowed upon stars based upon hours put in, Nic Cage would probably have a crapload of golden statues by now.

And let’s not forget that it took the academy until 2007 to honor Marty Scorsese with a Best Director nod.

Sidebar: Scorsese’s inability to nab that Oscar before The Departed probably had nothing to do with his talents. Let’s just say that on his director school report card he got an ‘F’ in ‘Gets along well with others’. Dude isn’t very well liked, but at least he’s not in the same sphere as David Fincher.

We’ll just chalk this Radcliffe rant up to sour grapes, and move on to our next juicy morsel.

Are you ready for this, Potter fans? The latest from the boy wizard deals with his man-crush on Ryan Gossling.

Yesterday he admitted to Perez Hilton: “This year I have a talent crush on Ryan Gosling. I think he’s fantastic and… (ahem) you know he’d be nice afterwards. He seems smart. If I was gay, I would go for a smart man.”

Ummm, doesn’t the fact that he chose to preface his statement with “If I was gay” make this whole thing a little more suspect? I’m not judging, because I’m sure there’s been one time in my life where I probably uttered the words, “Okay, if I absolutely HAVE to answer… If I was gay, I’d go for Jon Hamm.”

But this is Harry frickin’ Potter we’re dealing with. I think he’s gotta be a little more careful with what comes out of his mouth. This makes it three incidents of verbal imprudence in one week.

Ohhh, the life of a Muggle…

I wouldn't be surprised if someone starts a Twitter account called sh*tdanielradcliffesays. It's  still available.
