Jessica too hot to land good role?

When you see the name Jessica, you probably assumed I was talking about Jessica Simpson. But Hollywood has several pretty Jessicas: Simpson, Alba and Biel. In this case, the Jessica in question is Jessica Biel.

In a recent interview with Allure magazine, Biel proposes that her hot looks are getting in the way of her landing good movie roles. Biel becomes the latest actress to complain about their hotness being viewed as a deterrent to securing a good part in a film.

She says, "Yeah, it really is a problem. I have to be blunt. I'm in there with everybody else, fighting for the good parts. Yes, The Illusionist has made a difference - but a huge, massive difference, so I can pick and choose what I want? No. I just want an opportunity. If you don't like the audition, don't hire me! But if you don't want to even see me - that's hurtful. And why? You know nothing about me!"

Okay, point taken. But I doubt that people are buying the whole “I’m too hot to be taken seriously” line. There are countless examples of great looking actresses who never seem to have a problem landing a great role. I think if you asked 100 Hollywood producers and decision makers if discrimination exists for actresses being too sexy, at least 90 would laugh in your face. Sorry, Bielsy, we ain’t buying it.

Poor me, I'm too hot. Cry Me a River.

Cast of The Cosby Show reunites for Today Show

Bill Cosby and the rest of the cast of The Cosby Show got together this morning on the Today Show to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the successful sitcom. It was great airing a show about an African American family that dealt with normal everyday issues that all families face, regardless of race. In that regard The Cosby Show was groundbreaking.

Anyway, here they are, 25 years after the show debuted in 1984. It’s amazing that Bill Cosby can go over 14 minutes without uttering the words “Jello pudding.” And what’s with the shades, Bill?

Hey, hey, hey. The Coz is back!

Adam Lambert’s boyfriend revealed!

The American Idol finale begins tonight when finalists Adam Lambert and Kris Allen compete to be THE next American Idol. Presumptive winner Adam Lambert, who has yet to address his sexuality, is rumored to have a very good-looking boyfriend.

A photo of the guy finally surfaced last night, when Perez Hilton posted the pic and declared him Adam’s boyfriend. His name is Drake, and Lambert refers to him as “my boy.”

I guess Adam doesn’t want to completely “come out” until the show is finished, but seriously, if you really think that Adam is straight then stand up. Good, you’re all still sitting down. But isn’t it sad that Lambert feels he can’t say anything about being gay? Everyone assumes he is and it doesn’t seem to matter. Gay or straight, talent is talent. I hope that I’ll live to see the day when a person’s sexual preference does not prevent them from receiving the same treatment from society, the government and the courts that everyone else gets.

Robert Pattinson says Breaking Dawn will also get the movie treatment

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Twilight star Robert Pattinson confirms that the fourth Twilight book, Breaking Dawn, will be filmed. While at Cannes, Pattinson told The Hollywood Reporter the only obstacle is scheduling.

I realize that the movie probably wouldn’t be able to happen without him, but there has been no news of this from the studio or from any Hollywood insiders. Given the popularity of the books and the original film, it’s still likely to happen. But sure to get in the way is how to deal with the fourth book’s controversial subject matter. Breaking Dawn addresses questions of abortion and murder for the good of the many.

SPOILER WARNING: In the book, Bella's half-vampire unborn child threatens to kill her with its birth, prompting questions about whether to carry it to term. Other parties, notably the werewolves and vampire elders, are afraid the child's birth will threaten their existences and the world at large, so they contemplate killing Bella to save humanity.

If you’re a huge fan, I wouldn’t worry about it not happening. If the next two films do as well as they’re supposed to, the studio will find a way to make it happen, with or without the controversial storylines.

Maybe by the fourth film adults will jump on the bandwagon as well

Hate reality TV? Too bad, say networks.

Right now, the networks are wrapped up in unveiling their high-profile new shows and revealing which established favorites are coming back and which will be cancelled. But for summer, they're heavily arming themselves with a large dose of reality.

Get this: by Labor Day, 26 new reality shows will have premiered on network and cable television, and another 20 shows that fit the reality/game show definition will have returned. Read more about the upcoming shows in the link below from The Wrap.

As for the high profile shows, Big Brother starts for CBS in early July and Fox’s controversial dating show for plus-sized people, More To Love, begins July 28th.

But the summer reality season kicked into gear last night with ABC’s The Bachelorette, with local favorite Jillian Harris getting to choose between 30 potential suitors. In last night’s episode, she sent 10 home. Did you watch last night? Do you agree with Jillian’s picks? I think she made some really bad choices. I’m rooting for her to find the right guy, but so far it’s not looking too good. I HAVE to watch the show for another writing gig, and I was hoping that Jillian would make a difference and add a nice spark to what I believe is a very unentertaining show. Unfortunately, judging from last night’s episode at least, the show is still dull. Hope it gets better.

Reality bites?
