Fire victims in Fort McMurray are the recipients of a "Christmas miracle."
WestJet invited 1,000 residents from the Alberta city to a Christmas party where they could take their minds off the stress of the devastating May wildfires.
"Little did we know they'd have as much impact on us as we had on them," says WestJet.
Before planning the event, the company talked on camera with residents of the fire-ravaged city. They learned residents felt forgotten.
"They needed a boost over the holidays, so it was an easy decision for us to focus this year's Christmas Miracle on a very deserving community," says WestJet.
