No ban on Russian vodka

Russian vodka lovers don't have to worry about a ban on the drink in Saskatchewan.

Premier Brad Wall said Monday that the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority will not be removing Russian Standard vodka from store shelves.

Wall had considered the idea last week after the Manitoba government said it was thinking about making the move as a symbolic reaction to Russia's political and military actions in Ukraine.

Russian Standard is the only liquor product from Russia that the liquor authority carries.

Wall noted, however, that stores also carry one kind of Ukrainian vodka.

He suggested customers can make their own choice as to which of them they would rather buy.
