Amber Alert for Alberta baby
Police have issued an Amber Alert for a seven-month-old baby girl in a stolen pickup truck in northwestern Alberta.
RCMP say Addison was in a light-brown 2010 Dodge Ram truck that was reported stolen in Grande Prairie around 1 p.m. MST.
Police say the truck was taken from outside a home in the Royal Oaks area.
The vehicle has built-in toolboxes in the back and a pink sticker on the tailgate that says "Baby On Board."
Police say Addison is wearing pink pants and a pink tunic with blue-and-pink hearts on it. She is not wearing shoes.
RCMP are urging anyone who sees the truck with Alberta licence plate NED 553 to call 911.
Cpl. Roy Kennedy says it appears the driver had left the vehicle running with the child inside.
"It is not a parental abduction," Kennedy said Tuesday. "It looks like a random person tried to take advantage of a situation, possibly a vehicle running very momentarily.
"The main thing right now is locating the vehicle as soon as we can, and, even more importantly, locating that child inside the vehicle."
Kennedy said police are scouring the area.
It is very cold in Grande Prairie with a windchill around -24 C.
