Harper congratulates Grammy artists
Prime Minister Stephen Harper offered warm praise and congratulations to Canadian musical artists honoured at the 56th annual Grammy Awards.
“On behalf of the entire country, I offer my deepest congratulations to those Canadians who won a Grammy at this year’s Award Ceremony. It is a prestigious honour and a testament to their remarkable talent and dedication to their art.
“Highlights include Michael Bublé, for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, and Jennifer Gasoi, for Best Children's Album.
“We are very proud that Canadians continue to garner international acclaim for their diverse contributions to the music industry.
“I would also like to congratulate all of the Canadians who were nominated for a Grammy this year. All of our artists make us immensely proud, and we wish them all the best in their musical careers.”
Harper, a musician himself, has occasionally performed in public during his tenure as Prime Minister.
