Thompson Rivers University is shocked and saddened by the Nov. 13 attacks in France and Lebanon. Our thoughts and sympathy are with all of those affected and for the citizens of Paris and Beirut.

TRU has reached out to its students here from France and Lebanon and to those studying in those regions, and also to any faculty and staff there. We have had no reports  to indicate that any TRU students or staff have been endangered. Any TRU student, faculty or staff in France is asked to email an update to [email protected] if they have not already done so.

The Canadian Embassy has set up a phone line and email address for those who need assistance or are seeking information about relatives at 1-613-996-8885 or [email protected].  Government travel advice and advisories are available at http://travel.gc.ca/destinations/lebanon and  http://travel.gc.ca/destinations/france.

In support of the grieving people of France and Lebanon, all flags on campus will be flown at half mast until Tuesday and the only international flags will be that of Lebanon and the French Tricolore.
