New campus ID to streamline services to one card

New campus card example

This is an example of the student identification cards taking effect this coming September.

In an effort to better serve students, TRU is merging a number of campus services into one student identification card this September.

All new and returning students attending classes on campus will require the card to access Library services, to obtain the Students’ Union U-Pass, and other services that may require campus identification. The campus card may also provide various student discounts at businesses throughout the City of Kamloops.

Rather than waiting until September to apply for the card, students can start the registration process beginning June 16, 2014, with cards being available as early as Aug. 5 at the TRU Students’ Union’s Member Services desk.

To further speed up the process, the photo appearing on the card can be generated by students themselves and submitted for approved according to guidelines (see the link below). If approved, that will be the picture appearing on the identification.

As encouragement to act sooner than later, all students submitting photos between June 16 and Aug.15 will be entered into a contest with prizes to include giftcards to the TRU Bookstore and food services on campus.
