Kelowna based Rohit Group of Companies has purchased the Resort at Copper Point in the Columbia Valley.

In a press release announcing the purchase, Rohit says Canadians are no longer looking south of the border for resort property.

The company says attractive financing options, accessibility, health care, insurance concerns and a thawing of the market has moved the focus north of the border.

"Copper Point is a four seasons resort that is situated perfectly in the heart of the Rocky Mountains/Kootenay area of British Columbia featuring lakes, numerous golf courses, skiing at Panorama, hot springs and a wide array of outdoor opportunities," says Radhe Gupta, CEO of Rohit Group of Companies.

He says while the Resort at Copper Point has been delayed for 12 months, it is clear from the quality of the existing 70% of current construction that the original project developers and the municipality had a eye for design and fine details.

"Combined with our strengths in residential, commercial and land development and the exceptional bones of this project, we can bring to fruition the vision of a vibrant community that has an outstanding future."

Resort at Copper Point has 106 hotel/condo units along with swimming pools and golf course views.

Gupta says that as part of its desire to create sustainable communities, Rohit looks to work with the local community to bring this project back to life and add to the local economy.
