Moneta Porcupine Mines Inc. (TSX:ME). Miner. Up two cents, or 36.36 per cent, to 7.5 cents on 5.02 million shares.

Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. (TSX:IVN). Miner. Up 10 cents, or 10.99 per cent, to $1.01 on 4.5 million shares.

Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp. (TSX:PRE). Oil and gas. Up 20 cents, or 5.43 per cent, to $3.88 on 4.4 million shares.

Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Miner. Down 10 cents, or 0.65 per cent, to $15.24 on 1.1 million shares. How the company pays its top executives is facing opposition from some of Canada's biggest investment managers, including the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, ahead of the gold miner's annual meeting next week. The CPPIB joined other fund managers Friday in saying the company hasn't adequately addressed shareholder concerns about executive chairman John Thornton's paycheque.

West Fraser Timber Corp. (TSX:WFT). Lumber. Up $4.07, or 6.72 per cent, to $64.65 on 720,225 shares. Canada's lumber producers say they expect the softwood lumber agreement with the U.S. will be allowed to expire in October. West Fraser Timber noted in its first-quarter earnings report on Thursday that the likelihood of an extension or replacement agreement becomes increasingly remote. West Fraser reported first-quarter earnings of $49 million or $0.58 per basic share on sales of $1.1 billion, up from $43 million or $0.51 per basic share on sales of $809 million in the first quarter of 2014.
