Tim Hortons Inc. (TSX:THI). Restaurants. Up $13.25, or 19.26 per cent, to $82.03 on 5.9 million shares. Tim Hortons confirmed it was in merger talks with Burger King, which could help the iconic Canadian coffee and doughnut chain successfully expand into the U.S. market, while Burger King would move its headquarters to Canada amid speculation it wants to take advantage of this country's lower corporate tax rate.

Southern Pacific Resource Corp. (TSX:STP). Oil and gas. Down one cent, or 13.33 per cent, to 6.5 cents on four million shares.

B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Down 10 cents, or 3.66 per cent, to $2.63 on 3.9 million shares.

Talisman Energy Inc. (TSX:TLM). Oil and gas. Up eight cents, or 0.68 per cent, to $11.86 on 2.6 million shares.

Stornoway Diamond Corp. (TSX:SWY). Miner. Down three cents, or 4.62 per cent, to 62 cents on 2.5 million shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace. Unchanged at $3.81 on 2.4 million shares.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. (TSX:VRX). Drug manufacturer. Down $1.56, or 1.22 per cent, to $126.79 on 174,344 shares. The company said it has acquired a dermatology portfolio of drugs and several speciality products from Valeo Pharma for $25.3 million. Quebec-based Manitex Capital Inc., which owns 40 per cent of Valeo Pharma, said $18.3 million will be paid in cash and the balance over a period of three years.
