TORONTO - Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (15,172.93, down 42.03 points):

Orbite Aluminae Inc. (TSX:ORT). Miner. Up seven cents, or 11.67 per cent, to 67 cents on 7.6 million shares.

Eastern Platinum Ltd. (TSX:ELR). Unchanged at 11 cents on 7.3 million shares.

BlackBerry Ltd. (TSX:BB). Communications equipment. Up 64 cents, or 5.63 per cent, to $12.01 on 4.5 million shares.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM). Miner. Up 91 cents, or 3.63 per cent, to $25.95 on 3.3 million shares.

Fortis Inc. (TSX:FTS.IR). Utilities. Up 64 cents, or 1.68 per cent, to $38.63 on 2.9 million shares.

Manulife Financial Corp. (TSX:MFC). Insurance. Down seven cents, or 0.32 per cent, to $21.75 on 2.8 million shares.

Toronto Venture Exchange (1,030.63, down 7.13 points):

Cap-Ex Iron Ore Ltd. (TSXV:CEV). Miner. Down one cent, or 50 per cent, to one cent on 6.7 million shares.

Canamex Resources Corp. (TSXV:CSQ). Miner. Up three cents, or 23.08 per cent, to 16 cents on 5.1 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. (TSX:ATD.B). Retail. Down 50 cents, or 1.70 per cent, to $28.85 on 2.2 million shares. The Quebec-based convenience store and filling station operator reported earnings of $145.1 million or 25 cents per diluted share in the fourth quarter, down from $146.4 million or 26 cents a year ago as a result of lower margins on U.S. fuel sales. Adjusting earnings came in a 22 cents per diluted share, up from 20 cents a year ago but three cents below analysts' expectations. On the plus side, revenue was higher and the company increased its dividend.

CGI Group Inc. (TSX:GIB.A). Application software. Down 47 cents, or 1.23 per cent, to $37.60 on one million shares. The information technology services company signed an agreement with Volvo to provide services that will enable secure online connections in the automaker's cars. Montreal's CGI also said its contract with tire manufacturer Michelin has been renewed.

WestJet Airlines Ltd. (TSX:WJA). Airline. Up 11 cents, or 0.41 per cent, to $27.10 on 716,858 shares. The company said it aims to have its own wide-body aircraft in the sky next year. The bigger planes will offer greater range than WestJet's current fleet of Boeing 737s and allow it to compete with Air Canada on more routes. Air Canada (TSX:AC.B) was down 20 cents, or 1.99 per cent, to $9.85 on 4.4 million shares.
