Canadian Press NewsAlert: Unemployment rate rises to 7.0 in May
OTTAWA - Canada's unemployment rate rose to 7.0 per cent in May, from 6.9 per cent the previous month, Statistics Canada reported Friday. The agency said 25,800 net new jobs were created during the month, after dropping 29,000 jobs in April.
