TORONTO - Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (14,493.68 down 6.71 points):

Osisko Mining Corp. (TSX:OSK). Miner. Down 27 cents, or 3.38 per cent, to $7.73 on 17.1 million shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace. Unchanged at $4.01 on 9.8 million shares.

Yamana Gold Inc. (TSX:YRI). Miner. Down 22 cents, or 2.51 per cent, to $8.54 on 6.3 million shares.

Connacher Oil and Gas Ltd. (TSX:CLL). Oil and gas. Down 0.5 of a cent, or 1.47 per cent, to 33.5 cents on 4.8 million shares.

Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Miner. Down 78 cents, or 3.94 per cent, to $19.03 on 4.4 million shares. Barrick Gold's long courtship with another of North America's largest gold producers is reportedly on the rocks despite the attractiveness of a merger fuelled by lower precious metal prices. News reports from the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and others said the two sides had been working towards completing a deal around the time of their respective annual meetings this month, but that the talks had his some snags.

Goldcorp Inc. (TSX:G). Miner. Up 52 cents, or two per cent, to $26.53 on 3.9 million shares. The Vancouver-based company says it won't increase its latest takeover offer for Osisko Mining and will let it expire on Tuesday. Osisko has drawn a higher bid from two other mining companies.

Toronto Venture Exchange (997.21 down 1.56 points):

Petromanas Energy Inc. (TSXV:PMI). Oil and gas. Up 3.5 cents, or 14.58 per cent, to 27.5 cents on 4.4 million shares.

Satori Resources Inc. (TSXV:BUD). Oil and gas. Up 2.5 cents, or 45.45 per cent, to eight cents on 4.1 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Rogers Communications Inc. (TSX:RCI.B). Communication services. Up one cent, or 0.02 per cent, to $44.28 on 460,272 shares. The Toronto-based telecommunications and media company, reporting after markets closed, said its adjusted income was 66 cents per share, four cents below the average estimate of 70 cents per share, according to a survey by Thomson Reuters. Operating revenues were relatively steady at $3.02 billion, marginally below the $3.03 billion reported in the comparable year-earlier period.

Smart Technologies Inc. (TSX:SMA). Computer hardware. Down 38 cents, or 7.74 per cent, to $4.53 on 75,065 shares. The company, a developer of electronic white boards used for education and business applications, says co-founders David Martin and Nancy Knowlton have resigned from the board of directors — triggering the end of the company's multiple-voting shares.

TransCanada Corp. (TSX:TRP). Oil and gas. Down $1.92, or 3.74 per cent, to $49.38 on 2.8 million shares. The company says its customers are still "100 per cent" behind its proposed Keystone XL oil pipeline, despite dimming prospects that shovels will be hitting the ground any time soon. Late last week the U.S. State Department said it was extending indefinitely the amount of time that federal agencies have to review the $5.4-billion project, likely delaying a pipeline decision until after the November elections.
