Brad Pattison's Dog Tips

A can't-miss, very serious dog tip

A word of caution with exercise and feeding of your dog. Kind of like the rule of ‘no swimming’ after you have eaten, as a rule of thumb, I do not recommend any food 45-60 minutes prior to or after heavy exercise or playing.

The stomach needs time to digest and or settle down prior to consuming. Water intake must be strictly monitored as well.

A few licks are permitted, but if your dog gulps down a bunch of water or eats within this time perimeter, it can be dangerous. Known as bloat, stomachs can flip, which in turn can lead to the death of a dog in a very short amount of time. This is especially true with deep-chested dogs.

If you dog is attempting to vomit, is not acting normal, has high anxiety, or has a bloated abdomen, take it to your vet immediately.
