Warriors, Vees dominate all-star teams

The West Kelowna Warriors and Penticton Vees dominated the Interior Division all-star teams announced Wednesday by the BC Hockey League.

The Warriors placed two players on the first all-star teams and two more on the second team while the Vees had two players named to the first team and one more to the second.

Warriors named to the first all-star squad include forwards Seb Lloyd and Marcus Basara. Defenceman Josh Monk and goaltender Tyler Briggs were selected to the second team.

Vees forward Wade Murphy and defenceman Troy Stecher were selected to the first team while forward John Siemer was a second team selection.

Rounding out the all-star squads:

First Team

  • Shane Hanna, defence - Salmon Arm
  • Tyler Steele, goaltender - Merritt

Second Team

  • Regan Soquila, forward - Merritt
  • Brent Baltus, forward - Trail
  • Brett Corkey, defence - Vernon

All Rookie Team (league wide)

  • Brad McClure, forward - Penticton                                 
  • Phil Zielonka,forward - Chilliwack                                
  • Luke Esposito, forward - Chilliwack
  • Jarrett Brown, defence - Cowichan
  • Dane Birks, defence - Merritt
  • Michael Santaguida, goaltender - Surrey
