Vees sign goalie, forward

The Penticton Vees have announced the signing of a goaltender and forward for the upcoming season.

Goaltender Yaniv Perets, 19, comes to the Vees from the Boston Junior Bruins of the National Collegiate Development Conference, where he was named the league's top goalie.

The Quebec native posted a record of 23-10-1 with a 2.48 goals-against average and .929 save percentage. He arrives in Penticton with an NCAA scholarship to Quinnipiac University.

Forward Liam Malmquist, 18, comes to the Vees from his high school team, the Edina High School Hornets in Minnesota. In 24 games last season, Malmquist scored 23 goals and 29 assists. He recently announced his commitment to the University of Wisconsin, and will join his teammates in Penticton for training camp in August.
