Vees lose, season on the line

The Penticton Vees’ season will be on the line Saturday at the SOEC after falling 3-0 to the Cowichan Valley Capitals Wednesday night.

Capitals goalie Pierce Diamond stopped 27 shots in a shutout at home to propel his team to the precipice of a massive series upset over the Vees.

Cowichan goals came from Paul Selleck, Preston Brodziak with an empty-netter by Vincent Millette.

With the loss, Penticton falls behind in the series 3-1 and will have to win Saturday night to force a game six.

Puck drops at 6 p.m. at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

The Capitals ended the regular season in 16th after winning just 17 games — stark contrast to the 3rd place Vees’ 37-win total.
