Vipers take series lead

Another thrilling overtime win has given the Vernon Vipers a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven playoff series against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

The win was the second overtime victory in a row for the Snakes who split a home-and-home series on the weekend before heading to Salmon Arm for the game three win.

Jack Judson scored a power play marker in the second and Ben Sanderson scored the OT winner as the Vipers defeated the S'backs 2-1.

The two BC Hockey League Interior Division rivals have a day to rest before game four at Salmon Arm Wednesday.

Game five will be played at Kal Tire Place Friday March 8.

If necessary, game six will be back in Salmon Arm March 9.
