Viper on Team Canada

Vernon Viper forward Brett Stapley has been selected to play for Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge.

Stapley is among 14 BCHL players who were selected to represent their country at the tournament in Truro, Nova Scotia Dec. 10-16.

The team plays its first match against the Czech Republic on Sunday, Dec. 10 starting at 11:30 a.m.

Stapley, a University of Denver commit, has impressed this season, already surpassing his career high in goals from last year and with 20 games remaining to play, said the team.

This year, the Campbell River native also took part in the Anaheim Ducks development camp and was recognized by NHL Central Scouting.

In other news, the Vipers report that the Celebrate the Civic game has sold out.

For those looking fo tickets, there may be some released from season ticket holders who can't attend closer to the Jan 6th date when the Vipers take on the Prince George Spruce Kings at the Civic Arena.
