Warriors hand forced

The West Kelowna Warriors made a move Wednesday out of necessity.

The Warriors have dealt forward Damian Bentz to the Melville Millionaires of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for future considerations.

Bentz played four games with the Warriors this season before asking for the move to play closer to home.

He had one assist and two penalty minutes over those four games.

A native of Punnichy, Sask., Bentz had committed to the Warriors during the summer after playing 40 games with the the Yorkton Maulers in the SMHL.

Bentz scored 29 goals and 24 assists in Yorkton.

The Warriors, who have lost four of their last five, return to action with a home-and-home set with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks this weekend.

The teams meet Friday in Salmon Arm and Saturday back at Royal LePage Place.
