Salmon Arm Silverbacks head coach Brandon West will be behind the bench for the CJHL prospects game later this month in Surrey.
The game brings together the top draft-eligible Junior 'A' players from across the country.
West will serve as head coach of the aptly named Team West. Nick Greenough of the Valley Jr. A Wildcats (Maritime Hockey League [MHL]) will lead Team East.
"I am honoured to be involved in such an event,” said West.
“I look forward to working with the players, staff, and others who work tirelessly to put on this showcase of the CJHL. Thank you to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks, John Grisdale, the BCHL, and the CJHL.”
West is in his fourth season with the Silverbacks, and has been head coach since the start of the 2014-15 season.
This year, the Silverbacks sit second in the Interior Division with a 22-10-2-2 record, good for 48 points. Since taking over as the head coach, West has a winning percentage of over .600.
Prior to coaching in Salmon Arm, he was an assistant coach during the 2011-12 season with West Kelowna Warriors.
Player selection for the CJHL Prospects Game is a joint initiative between the CJHL and NHL Central Scouting.
The prospects game will take place Jan. 26 at the South Surrey Arena.
